Rising Together

I collaborated with CBAA to launch Rising Together | An Exhibition of Zines and Artists' Books with a Social Conscience, a four year travelling exhibition hosted in conjunction with the Art Center College of Design, Center for Book Arts, Mills College, San Francisco Center for the Book, University of Iowa, University of Puget Sound, and the University of Utah. The exhibition showcased contemporary and historical artist books, prints, and zines focused on social justice. It highlighted how art and activism give a visual voice to issues surrounding power, immigration, politics, war, and the environment. In tandem with the exhibition, CBAA established the Rising Together Micro-Grant program. These grants funded community zine-making workshops and focused on amplifying BIPOC voices and introducing non-traditional audiences to bookmaking education. In addition to overseeing the four year travelling exhibition and associated initiatives, I designed the logo and supporting collateral. Featured here are a few images of the materials and events hosted in collaboration with the exhibit.
