Turning Pages, Digging Through Time

I designed and produced this catalog for the Turning Pages, Digging Through Time exhibit at the Centre du Livre d'Artiste en Bretagne, in Plougenven, France in 2024. Curated by Inge Bruggeman, Codex Executive Director and University of California, Berkeley professor, the exhibit and catalog feature works and essays by Inge as well as Julie Baugnet, Sarah Bryant, Keri Miki-Lani Schroeder, Jillian Sico, Clemens-Tobias Lange and François Righi. Along with essays by the participating artists in English and French (translations by Nadia Translates and Kate Deimling), the catalog features photography of the exhibited artists' books by Bill Morrison at Western Document. To communicate the themes of the exhibit both visually and haptically, I designed the interior layout with clean typography and full bleed images. I designed the cover as a series of three hand-cut sheets which layer inward/outward in a sequential rendering of the title. The catalog was printed digitally and then perfect bound with the hand-die-cut covers.
